Work is under way to replace the Aiguille du Fruit chair and La Foret bubble lifts in time for this winter. They are both becoming faster thanks to the detachable system and will be able to carry more people up the mountain per hour than before.

The old Foret 4 seater gondola and it's iconic eggs - a throw back from the 70's - will be replaced with a 6 seater bubble lift, capable of carrying 2,400 people per hour instead of 1,000. It will offer a better connection between Courchevel and Le Praz.

The Aiguille du Fruit will become one longer lift, replacing the Gravells and the old Aiguille du Fruit lifts. It's becoming a 6 seater detachable lift as well, and will be able to transport around 3,300 people per hour and give better access between Courchevel and Courchevel Moriond. They managed to reduce the number of pylons from 30 to just 11 by replacing two lifts with one. Have a look at some of the work going on in this video.

The total investment for the two lifts is in the region of 17 million euros, which also includes 8 more snow-blowers.
