Marie Blanche Hotel Mountain Restaurant, Meribel
The restaurant of the Chalet Marie-Blanche certainly deserves it's excellent reputation in the resort. Open either for lunch, being a few metres from the pistes (sign-posted on the right-hand side on the Doron run into resort, just below the Adret chairlift), or dinner in the evenings, when you can enjoy views of the lit-up resort below, you will most be impressed by the quality and flavours of the dishes presented to you. A savoury blend of Savoy-style tradition and classic French cuisine full of creativity, which is refined without being fussy. The desserts aren't bad either!
On suitable days there is a large open-air sunny terrace on which to dine and admire the views. From the menu we ate La Salade Marie-Blanche, the Tatare de Boeuf Poele (lightly pan-fried) and for dessert an coffee-flavoured creme-brulée, all of which were delicious. And to finish off an excellent strong coffee, which we often use as a reference to the quality of an establishment. As we were leaving we spotted some other tables enjoying a Cote de Boeuf - rib of beef for 2 - which looked amazing. It means only one thing - we are absolutely going to have to return here for further investigation. We can only recommend that you do likewise.
