This duplex apartment is situated in a tranquil location a short walk from the centre of resort and the lifts.

The interior has been decorated in a traditional style with exposed wooden beams, wooden panelling and bright fabrics. 

The living room is open plan with a comfortable sitting area with sofa and armchairs, a large wooden dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to self-cater. The kitchen includes a full-size oven, ceramic hob, fridge and dishwasher.

At the far end of the room, there is access to a sunny balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, perhaps with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon. 

To keep you entertained throughout your holiday, the apartment is equipped with a flat-screen TV, DVD player and WiFi access. 

For your conveninece there is also a ski locker, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Dining

This property is let on self-catering basis, however, this doesn’t mean you need to cook for yourself! There are a number of private chefs you can book who can prepare your meals for the full week or the odd night. Alternatively you could opt for a food delivery service.

Families & Kids

You’ll need to book your own childcare, when staying here. There is a great choice of childcare options in Courchevel from full-time nanny services to the odd night of babysitting. In addition, during the winter season, many of the ski-schools operate creche services. Booking in advance is always recommended and strongly advised for the school holiday periods.

Transfers

You’ll need to book your own transfers when staying here. Your main options are shared or private transfers, but consider whether you would prefer a door-to-door service or a (generally cheaper) “communal” drop-off point at your destination.

Ski Hire

You’ll need to book your own ski hire, when staying here. There are many choices for hiring equipment. Generally, you’re best off choosing somewhere close for ease of access, & less far to carry your kit, easier to make changes, and quicker to return and pay at the end. Nevertheless, many suppliers will deliver and some snow-front rental stores offer ski lockers, so it’s worth checking out all the options. 

Lifts & Passes

You can book all your lift passes directly though this company and they will be ready for you when you arrive in resort so you can avoid those ticket office queues.

Instructors & Lessons

When staying here, you’ll need to book  your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Group lessons are a great way for children to learn with their peers whilst giving you some free time on the slopes. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

Guides & Tours

When staying here, you’ll need to book your own Guides & Tours, which are a great way to discover Courchevel whilst doing a number of fun activities. During the winter, if you are keen to go off-piste, booking a High Mountain Guide is strongly recommended. Not only do they know the best local spots, these highly trained and experienced individuals are very familiar with the surroundings and can provide loads of insights you won’t get by yourself, as well as helping to ensure your safety.

Local Area

Tourism in the Courchevel Valley started as early as the beginning of the Twentieth Century with summer holidays rather than winter. The first skiers arrived in Courchevel in the 1930's and the development plan for a ski resort with the help of Lauren Chappis in the 1940's. The official name of 'Courchevel' was decided upon in 1946 along with the creation of the first hotel 'Trois Vallees Hotel'. The first ski lifts were installed towards the end of 1946 by Jean Pomagalski joining Courchevel Village to Courcehvel. By the late 1950's the resort consisted of; one cable car, three gondalas, six ski lifts and 210 buildings for accommodation. Development continued and over fifty years later there is currently 58 ski lifts and 150km of piste along with four separate resorts; Courchevel, Courchevel Moriond, Courchevel Village and Le Praz.

Local Town

As you increase in altitude towards Courchevel you also seen an increase in facilities with Courchevel Moriond having a better selection of shops, bars, restaurants and amenities than the lower two resorts whilst still retaining the small town charm.

Local Restaurants

Courchevel Moriond has a nice selection of restaurants with everything from the creative menu at Le Table du Monali to local specialities and pizzas made on an open wood fire at Le Petit Savoyard or a good ol' pancake at Alti Crepes.

Local Sights

With the north facing aspect of many slopes in Courchevel they are some of the best in the Three Valleys. There are great views across to Mont Blanc and over the valley to Champagny and Bellecote in the La Plagne ski area.

Local Activities

Based at 1650m there is great skiing to be had from the base of Moriond along with cross country skiing and if you need time to relax there are two great spas, Bamford Oskia Le Portetta and Mahayorna Spa Manoli. In the summer there is walking, biking and rock climbing along with a unique opportunity to brush up on your musical skills or learn a new instrumet at the Courchevel Music Academy!

Local Golf-clubs

On the Les Verdons platueau in Courchevel there is a nine hole golf course. There is also a driving range with 27 bays including seven covered bays along with pitching and putting greens.

Local Ski-lift or Piste

From the snow front in Courchevel Moriond the main lift is the Ariondaz Gondola from which you can ski towards the Aiguille du Fruit Chairlift for connections to the main part of Courchevel and towards Meribel. Alternatively there is plenty of cruisey blues and challenging reds in Moriond alone that can be accessed via the Signal lift. The snow front also doubles as a beginner area and there are a number of drag lifts which lead you to gentle greens and blues.

Local Nightlife

Courchevel Moriond offers some really different apres at Le Poretta with the fire and ice bar - drink ice shots whilst keeping snug under fur blankets until it's time to wobble home. For a more lively venue try the Funky Fox or Le Bubble Bar. If you want more of a French vibe the small quaint La Cabane will do the trick.
